Chèvre is the French word for goat, and Chèvre cheese is made entirely of goat's milk. Chèvre is more pronounced in flavour than cheese made with cow's milk, and is easily digested, a healthy alternative for persons with lactose intolerance. Goat's milk is lower in fat and cholesterol than cow's milk, and higher in calcium and Vitamins A & B. Sea salt is added, which is beneficial for the health conscious person or Vegetarian because it has no iodine.
Chèvre can be used in a variety of ways:
